Ten Years On Easy Street

As 2017 comes to an end, we’d like to wish our Clients and Business Partners a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year.

At the same time, we’d also like to wish ourselves a Happy Birthday!

Easy Street celebrated its 10th year of trading in November so here’s a quick reflection on the last decade and recognition for those who made it happen.

It’s All About Timing

In 2006, company director Ian went self employed as a mortgage broker working from a spare room in his house. Things were going well servicing clients from all over the UK so in 2007 the idea for Easy Street was born.

Setting up a mortgage brokerage in 2007, what’s the worst that could happen?

As a result of the Credit Crunch, finance disappeared, mortgage offers were being pulled, lenders were closing, 100% mortgages turned to 75% and the country experienced its worst recession for a generation.

Other than that, it was a shrewd move.

When the Going Gets Tough

Some say that the first couple of years with a new business can be the hardest. This is certainly the case when there’s barely a market.

Some also say that there is a fine line between persistence and stupidity. This is also certainly the case when there’s barely a market.

It’s fair to say that the company would have closed for business were it not for hard work and determination, but especially some loyal clients who used Easy Street between 2007 – 2010. Those people will always be remembered, valued and we are eternally grateful for their support during what was a difficult time.

If at First You Don’t Succeed

After many attempts to move the business forward, persistence finally paid off in 2011 when Easy Street created some key businesses relationships with estate agency and accountancy firms.

Through a combination of a good work ethic and drive to succeed, we were able to add value to our partners, their staff and their clients. This resulted in growth in terms of client numbers who in turn recommended us to their family and friends.

Although we add value, we never take our partners for granted.

Together Everyone Achieves More

Since 2012, the client base has organically grown meaning that the team has had to grow with it.

Easy Street is now made up of a team of professionals who are committed to delivering results for our clients.

Most of our business comes from existing clients and referrals and this is no doubt due to the work ethic and efforts of a truly great team.

Attitude of Gratitude

Most importantly, our clients are at the centre of everything we do.

Throughout the years we have helped thousands of people with different circumstances achieve their goals, but we wouldn’t exist without their ongoing custom and support.

Onwards and Upwards

So, throughout our time we’ve seen a credit crunch, market crash, recession, government change, regulatory changes and now we have Brexit.

However, thanks to our clients, staff and business partners we just keep calm and carry on.

As we move into 2018, our main focus remains on strengthening our proposition and adding even more value to our clients and business partners. Watch this space.
